A Week Off

In our state the regulations on homeschooling are pretty relaxed. One of the main requirements is that attendance is tracked and that kids of school age get at least 180 days of school.

Well, this week the kids were SICK. Like fevers of 103-104 sick. They were down from Saturday until Tuesday. I made the executive decision to cancel school for the rest of the week. The kids were happy to have a week off. I was happy to not have to force freshly recovered kids to sit and do math.

Something that homeschooling has given us as a family is the freedom and flexibility to give our children a break when they need it. And I am forever grateful for that.
